Scott Turner, LEED AP+, President and Co-Founder
Turner has more than fifteen years of technology experience, and eight years of experience in the training and exam industry. Prior to starting GBES he was co-owner of one of the
largest IT training and certification programs in the world, with exams delivered to 115 countries and training more than 75% of the Fortune 500. Turner has extensive experience with all aspects of developing high quality training programs, including courseware creation, practice tests, exam creation and delivery, and psychometrics.
Turner was one of the first students of the Southface home building school in the year 2000, where he learned to construct green homes as part of the Earth Craft program.
Christine Cline, LEED AP, Director of Sales and Development and Co-Founder
Cline has more than six years of business development and leadership skills. Previously she was working for Opus South in Atlanta, on various green building projects such as the Social Security building in Alabama. Cline holds a business degree from Texas Christian University, and a MBA with a concentration in Commercial Real Estate from Georgia State University.
Cline recently built a green home in Dallas, Texas that includes green building strategies such as cocoon insulation made from recycled newspaper, 19 SEER HVAC units, tankless water heaters, and radiant barrier roofing.
Charlie Cichetti, LEED AP, BD+C, ID+C, O+M, Homes & Principal at SIG
Cichetti oversees the sustainable consulting, construction management, and LEED certification services for simultaneous projects. He has experience working with multiple rating systems including: LEED-NC, LEED-CS, LEED-CI, LEED-EBO&M, Energy Star, and LEED for Schools. In the last year, Charlie has led several projects to Gold. Mr. Cichetti holds a degree in Business Management from the College of Business at Georgia Tech and has successfully become a LEED Accredited Professional in the following areas, LEED v2.2 - New Construction & Major Renovation, Green Associate, Operations & Maintenance, Building Design & Construction, Interior Design & Construction, Homes.
Cichetti has more than 10 years of experience in commercial construction, real estate development and project management, and has directed multi-million-dollar office, warehouse, specialty, and condo construction projects. Prior to being an instructor and LEED Consultant, Cichetti worked for Opus Corporation, a $2.2B leading commercial real estate and design-build construction firm. While at Opus, he coordinated the on-time construction of Suwanee Gateway, a 148-Acre mixed-use park and Suwanee Gateway One, a $14M five-story LEED Silver spec office building. Before Opus, Cichetti worked for a large General Contractor in Atlanta, GA, working on multiple product types.
Jason Kiefer, LEED AP, BD+C, ID+C, O+M, Homes & Principal at SIG
Kiefer is Project Administrator and Project Team Member on a variety of LEED candidate projects. Kiefer actively instructs LEED educational courses both in-person nationwide and interactively online to assist professionals in their understanding of the concepts, principals, and resources surrounding sustainable construction/green building. He is a committed member to many organizations that include AGC, USGBC, GBCI, and ASHRAE. He holds a degree in Building Construction from the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech and has successfully become a LEED Accredited Professional in the following areas: LEED v2.2 - New Construction & Major Renovation, Green Associate, Operations & Maintenance, Building Design & Construction, Interior Design & Construction, Homes.
Kiefer has over 9 years of combined construction and development experience. His project management expertise includes a spectrum of LEED certified and registered projects that include: LEED-NC, LEED-CS, LEED-EBO&M and LEED-Homes. Kiefer has successfully managed projects in the commercial building industry ranging from healthcare, office buildings, industrial facilities, mixed-use developments, tenant improvements and existing building retrofits. Prior to employment at Sustainable Investment Group, Kiefer worked for several premier General Contractors and Developers together with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, JE Dunn Construction Company, Adolfson & Peterson Construction, and Opus Corporation.
James R. Brown, AIA, LEED GA, Director of Design & Construction at SIG
Brown is a 25+ year seasoned Architect and Construction Professional. He has leveraged his technical design and project management skills together with his persuasive communications ability to win new clients and contracts while also helping educate those in or seeking to join the green building industry. His LEED & sustainability classes are always captive with great real-life anecdotes from his project list. Brown has successfully managed projects in mixed-use, retail, education, government, commercial, religious, hospitality, healthcare, and residential. He has managed projects with values up to $125M and staff up to 200.
Mr. Brown is known for delivering high-quality, high-functionality buildings within strict time and budget constraints. He is a Registered Architect and studied Architecture at Bakersfield College in California. Prior to his work with SIG, Brown was successful at Opus Architects & Engineers, Opus Corporation, Curry Bradaw Architects, Kaplan McGloughlin Diaz, and Renfro Elliott & Associates.
